And still no end in sight. But hey, if we have work we can do and/or no virus, we're a lot better off than many folks out there. I'm actually feeling sorry for the ones who declared COVID-19 a hoax and who proudly refused to wear masks but are now testing positive. It's bad enough to have the virus (or to know you very well may come down with it and/or infect someone) but they have to feel at least a little foolish. One guy I saw on the news who has it looked like he'd rather die than admit he was wrong about it all.
If you're on my side of the fence on all this and you're worried that Trump could still win a second term…well, you should always do everything you'd do if your guy was eighty points down. But if you want a sense of how poorly Donald is doing, check out almost any map of the states which someone has color-coded according to current polling. This one is pretty good. The various pages vary on their precise distinctions between Solid, Likely and Lean but they all show that if Biden wins every state in which he's currently at least four points ahead, he has more than enough to win.
Pretty impressive…but keep in mind, he has neither a running mate nor the nomination yet.
Enough politics. Let's get to the important stuff, like my upcoming webcasts. This Saturday, we have a live Cartoon Voices Panel with another stellar lineup — Jon Bailey, Kari Wahlgren, Corey Burton, Kimberly Brooks and J.P. Karliak. These are more fun if you watch 'em live, which you can do Saturday at 4 PM Pacific Time. You can watch it on this page or over on this page at YouTube where you can also send us questions and comments which I might or might not read during the show.
Before that: Later this week, I'll be posting a Conversation with Steve Sherman, who was my partner/co-conspirator back when we worked for Jack Kirby. The chat, which has already been recorded, is mostly about Jack but there's some good talk in there about Steve's career A.K. (After Kirby) and our attendance at the 1970 Golden State Comic-Con, which was the first multi-day gathering of what is now Comic-Con International. It'll be up here in a day or so.
Next week, I'll be resuming weekly Conversations with different friends of mine and on Saturday, August 22, I'll be doing an online version of the Business of Cartoon Voices panels I host at Comic-Con. This will be a serious discussion of what it takes to break into the voiceover profession.
If you like these webcasts and want to see them continue, you can do me a favor and help publicize them on the Internet. I'm lousy at promotion. If there was any money in these videos, I'd pay someone else to promote them for me. Since there isn't, I depend on the kindness of strangers. Help me out, Kind Strangers. Help me out.
