I couldn't make it to the Writers Guild information meeting tonight but I've read enough to do what I just did, which was to vote for the Strike Authorization. That's not a good name for it — it's more like a Threat Authorization — but by any name, it's essential. If you're a member, you have until Noon on Monday to vote, which you can do at the WGA website.
If you're on the fence, there's a good 14-minute video there in which Negotiating Committee Co-Chair Chris Keyser explains what's going on and what's at stake. It says some of the same things I said here but better and with a greater focus on what's going on in the bargaining sessions. Please vote and please vote yes. Our negotiators can't bring back a good deal unless there is a show of support from the membership behind them.
