Heard a Talking Head on CNN last night say, "Chris Christie will have a hard time getting the Republican nomination in 2016." But of course, there's no human being alive who will have an easy time getting the Republican nomination in 2016. Hell, Ronald Reagan's ghost might have a rough task sewing that one up. Christie does have one thing going for him that a lot of contenders won't have: Recent proof he can win an election.
It's still way too early for this kind of talk. We're still not to the corresponding period in the last election when Rick Perry looked like a shoo-in…and I don't recall. Was that before or after Newt had it all sewn up? I won't believe Christie's getting close until I hear prominent Republicans swear they'll vote Democratic before they'll vote for him. But of course, if he's the nominee, they'll all support him. That's how it always works.
Meanwhile, for me the best indicator that Hillary won't be the Democratic nominee is all the experts saying she's certain to be the Democratic nominee. When was the last time any non-incumbent (as prez or veep) had a lock on it this far before the convention? We could all stop paying attention to the 2016 Presidential Race now, start watching around Easter of that year and not miss anything.
Let me remind you: Neither party has even decided yet when and where to hold their conventions. Las Vegas is bidding for both because, you know, the town doesn't have quite enough whores.
