Run For Your Badge!

Many of you will have the opportunity this Saturday to register (or, I guess, preregister) for badges for this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego. As I understand it, if you're eligible to register this Saturday, you've received an e-mail telling you that you are and how to go about it. More information can be found on this page and the announcement of the date and time to preregister is here.

I would like to remind everyone of two things, one being that I am not a representative of the convention…just a guy who hosts a lot of panels. So I should not be your main source of info on this kind of thing. Do not ask me questions. Do not rely on me to tell you what to do or when to do it. I mention it just to be helpful.

The other thing: The convention can hold something like 130,000 to 150,000 people over its 4.5 days. Four times that amount probably want to attend so people will be turned away before this process is over. This is unavoidable and if you were running the con, you wouldn't be able to figure out a way to cram everyone who wants to go into that convention center, either. I'm sorry but 'tis a fact of life. There will be other years and there are other conventions. And yes, I know: It doesn't do a bit of good to hear that when you had your heart set on going.
