The situation in Iraq with regard to torture is so ghastly that even George W. Bush, a man not known for ever saying he's sorry about anything, this morning said he was sorry about something. Could it get any worse over there in terms of the U.S. being perceived as trampling the basic human rights that we are supposedly there to uphold? Well, sure it can get worse.
